Tony was born in Birmingham in 1932.
After graduating with honours from Moseley School of Art, he pursued a career in advertising and graphic design before becoming a professional artist.
When it comes to capturing the atmosphere, emotion and nostalgia of motor sport, few, if any, do it better and Tony has paintings featuring in collections all over the world.
His knowledge is unquestionable and he got to mix with and know the sport’s greatest names making his work the finest when it comes to the smallest of detail.
"Trying to capture the action, speed and even violence of motor racing is a great challenge – one I’m still working on"
Tony uses four basic mediums to produce his pictures. "Everything starts with pencil - the most versatile instrument of all. You can obtain effects with pencil, which are impossible to recreate with other mediums. Pastel is also very effective for creating atmosphere, but most of my pictures are produced with oils or acrylics".
Tony's trademark Bertie Bear first appeared in his paintings in 1996.
